About Me

Hi, I’m Becca.

I’m from Chicago, but right now I live in a town called Xela (Shay-la) in western Guatemala.  I am a teacher and a reader and a writer.  My current hobbies include:  squeezing into tiny, overcrowded busses, reading in the park, and smiling and nodding when people speak Spanish much too quickly.

I am a member of The Rising, a contributor to Single Roots, and I write here about traveling, about faith, about my occasionally disastrous relationships, and about the process of starting over.  I’m trying to be more thankful for everyday moments, and find the wonder in a life that usually looks less than pinterest-worthy.  I’m just figuring this out, too, and I hope you can join me.

The world will never starve for want of wonders,  but only for want of wonder. – G.K. Chesterton
